http://www.hachettebookgroup.com/_images/ISBNCovers/Covers_Large/9780446561938_154X233.jpgOn The Brink - I really enjoyed reading this book. Let's face it, we all wanted to be a fly on the wall in some of the recent conversations and meetings this country has been forced to put together. Well, at 22 years old, this may be the closest thing to being that fly. Paulson wrote this book, and it is obvious based on the information that he provides. Having said that, I don't believe it takes anything away from the read. I would encourage anyone interested in the capital markets to read this book. These are historical times, and the information provided is very timely.

http://www.nimaheydarian.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/outliers-malcolm-gladwell.jpg The Outliers - The Story of Success. Malcolm Gladwell gracefully explains the differences between highly successful people and, well, the not so successful. At it's root, successful people are simply put in a position to work harder than the competition. Not only are they put in this position, but they actually do work harder! Gladwell goes over the idea of 10,000 hours. A professional needs 10,000 hours to master their trade. It was incredibly interesting to hear the background of The Beatles, Bill Gates, Canadian Ice Hockey Players, and Robert Oppenheimer. Interesting to note that we often build up the idea of a genius, Gladwell explains more of the science behind the genius. Though the book was a bit simplistic... more depth may have not been so palatable. This book left me wanting more, which I believe was the intent.

http://postrecession.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/animal-spirits-book-cover1.jpg Animal Spirits: How Human Psychology Drives The Economy, And Why It Matters For Global Capitalism. This book is an incredible read, though difficult at times to grasp - you will love it if you don't mind re-reading chapters. Akerlof and Shiller offer extremely interesting insight to the comparison of the current market downturn and the Savings and Loan Crisis of the early 1990's. The writings of the efficiency wage theory and the labor markets are, from what I can tell, ahead of it's time. The insight for younger people to start saving their pennies is helpful. Also, noting Singapore's ability to save their way out of poverty... Furthermore, the credit market evaluations that are discussed are very interesting. Check back to this post often as I see myself reading this book a few more times. I would recommend this book to all, not just those in the finance world. We are lucky to have two premier economists link their thoughts together in one book!

http://www.ecobook.com/images/portadas/9780470463383.jpg Forbes Guide to the Markets: Becoming a Saavy Investor - I really enjoyed this book. I often feel like an outsider looking in when I approach the stock market (and other investment sectors). This read had given me a more broad sense of a true investment analysis. This book is almost a tool to reflect on prior to investing in the market. Not extremely deep, though very informative. This has helped me to fully understand my CNBC filled mornings!

Though, being in real estate, I do wish that he would have "dug a little deeper" into each chapter. I appreciated his look into politics and their role in the mortgage mess. Quick read at about 190 pages, I would recommend it!

Through this book he was able to provide examples of how to become leaders. We can all learn something from Robin. Visit his website, perhaps one day I will hear him speak. I have found myself quoting this book a ton in my daily business efforts. Robin Sharma.com

I really enjoyed this book. Great examples of Google's business etiquette. I found myself taking notes throughout the entire read. Appreciated the examples of other companies and explanations of how they would benefit from being "Google-Like".

Though this is an enjoyable book for all. Very relevant information about U.S. history with an undertone that would satisfy the conspiracy theorist in us all!
